When I moved into my Brooklyn apartment I had white IKEA cabinets and a vision I hadn’t quite figured out yet. Rather than rushing into something I wasn’t sure about I decided to just live in the space for a while. At that time, I was using an ironing board as a kitchen table and a couple of pieces of plywood as countertops, just waiting for the right idea to show up. The kitchen sits at the back of the apartment and opens right up to the garden, so whatever I put on those cabinet doors had to feel like it belonged there. It needed to be bold enough to make a statement but alive enough to feel at home next to a Brooklyn backyard.

The answer came in the form of Copacabana granite. I was drawn to the movement of it, the way it commands attention. I spent weeks saving images of the real stone, zooming into the swirls and veining that made me stop scrolling, pulling the pieces I loved and patchworking them into something new. Then we put an artist’s hand to it, pushing it past photo realistic into something more intentional. The energy of the stone without pretending to be the stone.

That pattern is Genesis. Our first. We’ve gotten a lot of requests for her so here she is.

Genesis comes in three versions. Mural Panel 1 and Mural Panel 2 are the panels I used in my own kitchen, independent statement panels designed for contained areas where one bold moment is exactly what the space needs. The Tiled Version repeats seamlessly in a vertical stack, each panel offset by half the length, wrapping as much wall as you’re willing to give it.

Available in Peel and Stick (30 inches wide) and Grasscloth (48 inches wide), in five heights to fit your wall.

It started in a Brooklyn kitchen. Where it goes next is up to you.
