FAQ

How much wallpaper do I need?

All Showplace Drive wallpaper is sold per panel, and every design is a straight-match print — meaning patterns align panel to panel without overlaps. To figure out how many panels you need, use the calculator on any product page. Just enter your wall dimensions and it’ll tell you exactly what to order

How do I measure my wall?

Here’s what to keep in mind:

  •  Don’t include crown molding or baseboards in your heigh.  measurement.   Measure only the actual wall surface.
  • Measure the height on both sides of the wall and use the longer of the two measurements.
  • Measure the width at both the top and bottom of the wall and use the wider measurement.
  • Include doors, windows, and any other obstacles in your total measurements, it’s easier to trim than to run short.
Should I order extra wallpaper?

Yes, and I always recommend it. Adding 5–10% to your measurements gives you a buffer for trimming, pattern alignment, and minor mistakes. Colors can also vary slightly between print batches, so ordering a little extra from the start helps you avoid a mismatch if you ever need to patch or replace a panel.

How do I place an order?

 It’s a straightforward process:

  •  Choose your design from the shop.
  • Use the calculator on the product page to enter your wall dimensions and determine how many panels you need.
  • Choose your wallpaper type, Peel & Stick or Non-pasted.
  • Select your size and add to cart.
  •  Review your cart to confirm the design, quantity, and any color selections.
  •  Check out. You can pay via credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Make sure to include a phone number at checkout,   the shipping carrier requires it for delivery coordination.
  • Once payment is complete, your order goes into production and ships within 3–5 business days.
Will the colors on my wallpaper match what I see on my screen?

Screen colors vary depending on your monitor settings, so there can be slight differences between what you see digitally and the printed result. If color accuracy is important to you, I strongly recommend ordering a sample first so you can see the design in person before committing to a full order.

Can I order a sample before committing to a full order?

Yes, and I highly recommend it. Samples let you see the actual print quality, feel the material, and check how the color reads on your wall in your specific lighting.

How do I use my sample to test the wallpaper?

Once your sample arrives, apply it to your wall and leave it up for 2–3 days. Check that it’s adhering well, not peeling at the edges, and that you’re happy with how it looks in your space. For peel and stick specifically, this is also a good way to confirm your wall surface is compatible before placing a full order.

Do I need to prime my walls before installing wallpaper?

It depends on the wallpaper type and your wall surface:

Peel & Stick: Priming is recommended on bare drywall, but optional on already-painted or otherwise smooth surfaces.

Non-pasted: A primer is recommended during the application process to improve adhesion and make future removal easier.

How should I prepare a freshly painted wall?

Wait at least 4 weeks after painting before applying wallpaper. Even if the paint looks and feels dry, it takes time to fully cure — and applying wallpaper too soon can affect adhesion and potentially damage your walls when it’s time to remove it.

Can I use peel and stick wallpaper on textured walls?

It’s not recommended. Textured surfaces prevent the adhesive backing from making full contact with the wall, which can affect how well the wallpaper sticks. The texture may also show through the material after application since the wallpaper is not fully opaque.  However, some customers have used it successfully on lightly textured walls like orange-peel or knockdown finishes. We can’t guarantee performance on textured surfaces, but ordering a sample and testing it for a few days is the best way to see how it performs in your specific situation.

Can I use non-pasted wallpaper on textured walls?

Non-pasted wallpaper is also best applied to smooth walls. Any texture or undertone beneath the surface may show through after application. However, using a proper wallpaper paste can improve adhesion on lightly textured surfaces like orange-peel or knockdown walls. As always, we recommend testing with a sample first, and we can’t guarantee performance on textured surfaces.

How do I clean my wall before applying wallpaper?

Wipe the wall down with a damp cloth and let it dry completely before applying. For best results, use an isopropyl alcohol cleaning solvent.  Spray it on the cloth, wipe the wall, and allow it to dry fully. A clean, dry surface is key to good adhesion.

Do you ship worldwide?

Is shipping free?

We offer free shipping on all orders over $75.  For orders under $75, a flat $4.99 shipping fee applies.

What surfaces can I apply peel and stick wallpaper to?

Peel and stick works best on smooth, flat, dry, and clean surfaces. Here’s a breakdown by surface type:

Wood, plywood, paneling, and cabinets: It will adhere well as long as the surface is smooth and free of grease and dirt. Never apply to surfaces painted with oil-based paint.

Concrete: It will stick to concrete but clean the surface thoroughly first. For best results, apply lining paper before installation.

Tile: It will adhere to tile, but grout lines may be visible through the wallpaper after installation. Order a sample to test first.

Ceiling: Yes, it can be applied to the ceiling as long as the surface is smooth. Just know it takes extra effort working overhead.

Not recommended for heavily textured walls or high-humidity surfaces.

Can I use peel and stick wallpaper in wet or humid areas?

It can work in bathrooms and as a kitchen backsplash under the right conditions. Keep these in mind:

  • install it where it will have direct or consistent contact with water (no shower interiors, directly next to a tub, or above a sink basin).
  • Always apply to a completely dry, clean surface.
  • Avoid spaces with poor ventilation or extreme humidity, the adhesive can fail over time in those conditions.
  • Keep it away from open flame or direct heat, especially near a stove or cooktop.

For lower-humidity bathrooms with good airflow it can look incredible. When in doubt, order a sample and test it first.

What surfaces can I apply non-pasted wallpaper to?

Non-pasted works best on smooth, clean walls. Here’s the breakdown:

Wood and paneling: Apply with a proper paste and test a small area first to make sure it won’t damage the surface.

Concrete: Will adhere with the right paste. Clean the surface thoroughly and consider lining paper for best results.

Tile: Will adhere with the right paste, but grout lines may show through. Order a sample to test first and check with your local paste vendor for the best product to use on tile.

Ceiling: Not recommended.

Not recommended for heavily textured walls or high-humidity spaces.

Can I use non-pasted wallpaper in wet or humid areas?

It can work in bathrooms and as a backsplash with the right paste and conditions:

  • Use a paste formulated for non-woven paper-based wallpapers such as Roman PRO-880 Ultra Clear.

∙Never install it where it will have direct or consistent contact with water.

  • Good ventilation is essential – avoid spaces with extreme humidity or poor airflow.
  • Keep it away from open flame or direct heat near a stove or cooktop.
